Purple Haze July 16, 2008

Filed under: Shopping — Ivy Schnepp @ 8:21 pm

Purple is so hot right now, it’s not even funny. It is everywhere, even fingernails. Chanel’s new nail colors, named in reference to their new boutique on Robertsons Boulevard, are bright, colorful and oh, so fun! Rodeo Drive is a beautiful shade of purple, while bright pink Melrose, yellow L.A. Sunrise and L.A. Sunset, a fun tangerine, round out the collection. Extremely similar are Essie’s Neon Collection, versions based on the same bright palette of purple, pink, yellow and orange. Essie’s take on purple is called Bermuda Shorts while yellow takes the name Bermuda Pants, orange is called Mini Shorts and pink goes by the name Short Shorts.

LiLo and Monica sitting in a tree… July 11, 2008

Filed under: Fashion, Shopping — Ivy Schnepp @ 7:22 pm

Not that LiLo has been giving any lately (Hello, saMANtha) but a certain act is referred to in one of Lohan’s leggings from her line, called “Mr. President.” First of all, aren’t leggings on their way out? Haven’t they been on their way out for a while now? Speaking of Out…Lindsey, what do you say? Secondly, the line developed by Lohan is horrendous with a capital H. Two of my favorites and by favorites, I mean the worst of the worst, are featured below. If you wipe your a*& with hundred dollar bills and feel like wasting a few more, Lohan’s line is sold at www.ShopIntiution.com. The line is called 6126 after Marilyn Monroe’s birthday. All I can say is Wow!

Bluefly July 3, 2008

Filed under: Fashion, Shopping — Ivy Schnepp @ 5:19 pm

One of the most recognizable online shopping sites is Bluefly.com. The company originally began as a golf inspired clothing retailer, known as Pivot Corporation and later, Pivot Rules, Inc. In 1998, the seven year old company chose to pursue the path of online luxury brand retailer and at that time, Pivot Rules, Inc. changed its name to Bluefly. Fly meaning quick, nimble and adaptive (like the insect) and Blue because blue is considered a friendly color.

Sweet Meringue July 2, 2008

Filed under: Fashion, Shopping — Ivy Schnepp @ 3:34 pm

Meringue Boutique is located on First Street in Lake Oswego, Oregon. The bright decor and branding captures the clothing lines and other items that can be found at this hot spot. In a relatively small space, one could spend quite a while discovering all of the chic pieces and other unique products. Meringue also has a great selection of stylish maternity wear and children’s clothing. Some of the pieces are so cute that you might find yourself in the maternity section without even realizing it. Check out their website for a full list of all of the lines they carry. Plus visit the store or the site this weekend and receive 20% off of selected merchandise. Meringue is the only store in Oregon that carries the insanely sweet Tarina Tarantino jewelry line. A NWPosh fave is her Carved Lucite Disc earrings that come in a wide variety of colors.

Vote for Pedro! June 20, 2008

Filed under: Fashion, Shopping — Ivy Schnepp @ 10:25 pm

Pedro Garcia is my newest obsession. His shoes are absolutely beautiful, exquisitely made and quite comfortable. Opening your first box of Pedro Garcia shoes will fill you with excitement and you will immediately notice the remarkable craftsmanship. And at that moment, you will know you now truly own an exquisite pair of shoes. It may seem like a lot poetry and puff about shoes (simply, the things you wear on your feet) but it was not until I owned a pair of these shoes that I understood how people can become obsessed with shoes.

I find myself searching for certain styles of Pedro Garcia shoes nearly every night and I can only hope with my diligence, my collection of two becomes much larger in the near future.

“It’s hard to believe…” April 20, 2008

Filed under: Fashion, Shopping — Ivy Schnepp @ 12:14 pm

“the parents were ugly.” That is the current ad line for the new style of Crocs. Touted as the most comfortable pair of three inch heels, the new styles combine the concept of simplicity and the basic materials of its forerunners with a more stylish design. The Cyprus comes in six different color combinations and it is priced at $49.99. My favorite colors are Scarlet and Bronze.

Rachel Pally creates colorful, sleek stylish pieces that are classic and comfortable. The look, the feel and the cut of each piece is so well-constructed and designed that the simple materials are brought to life. Her understanding of design is unquestionable. It is hard to find clothing that is comfortable and flattering and yet, Rachel Pally’s designs manage to accomplish all necessary components of sexy, fun and fashionable clothing.

Fendi Artist Baguette February 26, 2008

Filed under: Fashion, Shopping — Ivy Schnepp @ 7:01 pm

Commerce has evolved to the point where consumers are constantly bombarded by options. The next logical progression is customization or personalization. We might not want to manufacturer the actual item but we do want to color it, paint it, de-constructed it, construct it…You get the idea, the options are limitless. This new dimension of the marketplace has affected companies ranging from Fendi to Starbucks. The most stylish of the customization trend is the Fendi Artist Baguette. This chic canvas comes with Pantone Markers so you can create your own version of what the Fendi bag should look like.
