Intel (as in intelligence) vs. Ebay January 31, 2009

So back in November, I got word of these new nail polishes by Chanel called the Moscow (Mouscou) collection. There are three colors: Nuit de Russie, Or de Russie and Feu de Russie.  Each color uses a deep black base and then three different shades of red (Feu), blue (Nuit) and Gold (Or).  For Christmas I asked my husband to get me Feu de Russie.  So like the wonderful husband he is, he started at Nordstroms where he was met with blank stares at the Chanel counter.  Next, he tried Saks and again, nothing.  ”Moscow Collection, I’ve never heard of that.  Are you sure its from Chanel?”  It is always great when you know more about the line than the people working behind the counters.

So Part Two of the Moscow Nail Polish Saga. (more…)

Fashion Design Camp January 30, 2009

After perusing the web for fashion fodder, I came across one of the best ideas I have seen in awhile and it is located here in Portland.  Fashion Design Camp is the creation of Tacee Webb and her daughter, Palace.  Webb is the founder of Red Light Clothing Exchange.  FDC is a five day camp for children ages 8-16.  At the end of the workshop, a fashion show is put on, showcasing the creations of the week.  But this camp is not only for those wishing to become designers but also those who want to work in the fashion industry, whether that be as a boutique owner or buyer or fashion stylist. It encourages participants to recognize and to take advantage of the resources that Portland has to offer.

Top of the News…Big Count Down, fifteen days until Fashion Week in NYC!!

Say it Ain’t So ….Gisele for Rampage?!?  That’s right, the Brazilian Bombshell has signed on to be the current face of Rampage.  I haven’t wore Rampage since I was in eighth grade and was on a budget.

Interesting News…Charlotte Russe, a mall staple, has teamed with Eric Daman to revamp their image. You might know Daman as the styling force behind Gossip Girl so think less Forever 21 and more Century 21.  xoxo

Good Betty…check out NY Magazine’s Fug Girls: Seven Ways to Revive Ugly Betty accurate assessment of how to fix ailing show.

And for those of you who share my addiction to chocolate and are in Portland, stop by Chocolate Fest at the World Forestry Center January 31st and February 1st.  Admission is $8.00 and doors open at 10, closing at 5.  See you there!  I’ll be the one with chocolate all over my face!!
